WSET Diploma – WSET certified educator, BA in Wine Business – Plumpton College, Certified Port Educator, Associate of Academy of Cheese
Tim studied languages at Cambridge and remains fluent in French and Spanish. He then decided to convert to law (for reasons he can’t quite remember) and ended up spending 15 years working as a real estate solicitor in a number of law firms. From 2006 to 2014, he was a Professional Support Lawyer and spent much of his time delivering training to a wide range of audiences and writing articles.
In 2014, he took the plunge to pursue his dream of working with wine and started on the Wine Business degree at Plumpton College in East Sussex. Whilst studying at Plumpton, he gained his WSET Diploma. He later returned to Plumpton as Wine Business lecturer.
A Certified WSET Educator to Diploma level, Tim has taught WSET courses at all levels at Plumpton and the WSET School in London. He also worked with WSET on the development of the new Diploma, including writing some of the study materials.
Tim runs tastings and has presented to a number of local wine clubs, Rotary Clubs, charities and Mensa groups! He loves sharing his knowledge of wine with others, whatever their level of knowledge. He has also run food and wine pairing events and has a particular interest in cheese and wine pairing, as an Associate of the Academy of Cheese.
At Plumpton, Tim also taught about other drinks categories, notably spirits and beers. He is a tour guide for Context Travel’s London Beer Tour.
